The Northern Region Progressive Traders Association has expressed concern about foreign traders who have virtually taken over trading activities in the region.
The Association is planning to hit the streets in two weeks if government and other relevant agencies do not address their grievances.
At a news conference in Tamale, Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Haruna Yabasa, said the foreign traders are engaged in illegal activities which is affecting the local traders and gradually forcing some of them out of business.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Secretary General of the Nigerian Union of Traders Association, Emmanuel Okoye said they are trading in Ghana because it is their right as citizens of ECOWAS.
