Switch Africa Forum opens in Burkina Faso

More than 50 green Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, (MSMES) from six African countries including Ghana will be attending the Switch Africa Green Forum in Burkina Faso September 3.
The forum will consist of an exhibition of green business interventions on sustainable practices in manufacturing waste management, agriculture and tourism sectors in Burkina Faso, Mauritius, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and South Africa.
The exhibition will demonstrate the impact of the EU funded programme to MSME’s on the continent.  This will include some innovative solutions to economic and environmental challenges in Africa on improve cook stoves, managing electronic waste profitably, biogas innovations and converting waste to business ventures.
Participating businesses from Ghana include Accra City Waste Recycling and Matilda Haute Couture.  Both companies are into recycling of e-waste and other waste materials.
A high-level panel and policy makers roundtable have been held to discuss the creation of an enabling environment for green business development and innovative solutions in sustainable consumption and production practices.
The two-day forum will be held under the theme: “Innovative Solutions for accelerating Africa’s transition towards an inclusive green economy through sustainable consumption and production practice.”
