A Professor of Psychology and Founding Director, Centre for Ageing Studies, University of Ghana, Professor Charles Mate-Korley says the psychological impact of coronavirus on people and families should not be underestimated.

He said the chain of economic, social, emotional effects on families, citizens and other professionals call for the immediate engagement of Psychologists and Mental Health Professionals to help educate people on how to deal with the stress.

Speaking on GBC’s current affairs programme, ‘Talking Point’, Prof Mate-Korley said the psychological aspect of handling the present difficulties is very crucial and must not be ignored.

A Clinical Research Coordinator at the Noguchi Memorial Institute, Susan Adu Amankwah said the government should allocate part of the hundred million dollars to set up more testing centres across the country.
