The announcement of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang as running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flag bearer John Mahama, seems to have created some excitement at the University Of Cape Coast where she worked and became the first female Vice-Chancellor.

Whilst describing the appointment as the fulfillment of international obligation to ensure gender equity, a former Pro-Vice Chancellor, of the University Prof. George Oduro, says Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang is more than capable for the position.

The Vice-Dean of the faculty of Science and Technology Education, Prof. Sarah Darkwa, also expressed her joy and excitement and that of the females in her faculty about the news.
