Students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), have started reporting on campus today (November 16) for full academic work.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh says students whose actions led to the massive destruction of properties at the school will have to brace themselves up to bear the full cost of damages.

Last October, properties estimated at 1.7 million cedis were destroyed at KNUST, following management-student tensions that led to violent protests.

The school was shut down indefinitely with its governing council dissolved.

Swearing into office the new Governing Council for KNUST, the Education Minister said it is appropriate for the student front to be held responsible for the damages within the remits of the law.

The Chancellor of KNUST, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu cautioned students and all groups linked to the University to desist from engaging in activities that will undermine the work of the newly formed Governing Council.
