The head teacher of Asuboni M/A School, Bright Moses Oppong, has expressed worry about the poor performance in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by candidates they present for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

This has largely been due to the school’s lack of a computer laboratory to aid ICT the teaching and learning. He said the students’ performance in the other subjects was encouraging.

The consistent low grades scored in ICT, he told the Ghana News Agency, had become a bother to the teachers, students and parents.

Mr Oppong also complained about inadequate classroom space, which he said was unhelpful to effective academic work.Work on a kindergarten block started by the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) had stalled because of funding problems.

He called for support from the municipal assembly and philanthropists to make the school environment more academic-friendly.
