The Chairman of the Education Select Committee of Parliament, Siaka Stevens has expressed the readiness of the Ministry to put an end to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) brouhaha.
He said interim measures are being put in place to help end the situation.
Speaking to host Ibrahim Kwarteng on Uniiq FM News and Current Affairs Programme, ‘Behind the News’, Mr. Siaka called on UTAG to come up with solutions so as to bring the situation to an end.
Meanwhile, a representative each from the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) and Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU) of the University has been added to the Interim Governing Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
This brings the membership of the KNUST Interim Council to nine.
A statement from the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry of Education says the decision is to ensure that stakeholders and interest groups are well represented on the Council during its three month tenure within which it is expected to achieve its terms of reference.
The statement hopes the Council will work with all stakeholders to achieve its objectives.
