Former Member of Parliament for Mampong and current flagbearer contestant for the New Patriotic Party, Ing. Francis Addai Nimo has mentioned that, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC needs to be resourced enough to attain the tag of the nation’s number one in television communication.

“You should be the nation’s number one, the leader in terms of television communication to the Ghanaian people”, he said.

In an interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show on October 26, 2023, Mr. Addai Nimo mentioned that the state broadcaster is endowed with the requisite infrastructure to become the nation’s leading television and radio entity but lags back on the resources that will propel it to achieve that feat. He praised the amazing nature of the GBC environment and staff and called for a better facelift of the organization. He also acknowledged how thriving GBC has been even with the little resources it has at its disposal.

“It’s amazing when you come to GBC. You have the infrastructure, so there is the need for a facelift for GBC and Ghana Television in particular. I think you need the resources and you could be doing more”, he added.

Mr. Addai Nimo seeks to lead the New Patriotic Party after the Party’s November 4, 2023 Presidential elections. He faces fierce competition from the Vice President, Dr. Mahamud Bawumia, former Agriculture Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Member of Parliament for the people of Assin-Central Constituency, Ken Ohene Agyapong.
