GBC’s RADIO BAR in Sunyani donates to Hanukkah Children’s Home

Radio BAR of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in the Bono Region as part of its corporate social responsibility has donated assorted items to the Hanukkah Children’s Home at Fiapre near Sunyani the Bono Regional Capital.

Speaking during the presentation, Radio BAR’s Akosua Gyaamah said the items were solicited from their cherished listeners to let the needy have a feel of the Christmas celebrations and let them know people care about them.

The donation to the Children’s Home has become a firm fixture on the Calendar of Radio BAR of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation for more than 10 years as part of their effort to give back to the less privileged. The Hanukkah Children’s Home was established in 2007 and currently houses over 40 children.

Led by the Bono Regional Director of the GBC, the delegation from GBC donated items procured with the support of listeners of Radio BAR.

These include bags of rice, cooking oil, toiletries, biscuits, bottled water, eggs, toys, school bags, books, clothes, shoes and undisclosed amount of money. The donation was received with much delight by the Children and management of the home as they sung Christmas carols.

After presenting the items to the home, Akosua Gyamaah who spearheaded the solicitation of items, said Christmas is a time to show love and the GBC did not want to be left out.

She said the gesture will not be the last stressing that the Management and Staff of the GBC along with its listeners will replicate the gesture at Easter and called on benevolent individuals to get ready to do more for underprivileged children.

Interacting with Radio BAR after receiving the items, Raphael K. Santah who is in charge of the Home, thanked the GBC for the gesture and took the opportunity to call for more of such gestures from individuals and Institutions.

One of the Children, prayed for the GBC, calling for God’s blessings for the Corporation.

The day also saw the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) donating similar items to the home. The leader of the Delegation from NEDCO Rosemond Anaabah in brief remarks called on well to do individuals to go to the aid of needy Children.
