Ghana Premier League match week 16 review

Accra Hearts of Oak recorded another draw after match day 15 draw. The Accra based side were held to a goalless draw by Great Olympics on Friday 22nd December, 2023 in Kumasi.

On Saturday Berekum Chelsea drew at home against Bafoakwa Tano with the ambition of making progress on the league table, but a goalless draw got them some work to do in their upcoming matches.

Sunday brought the games in a fully packed session, as Kumasi Asante Kotoko once again found their rhythm  against Real Tamale United at the Baba Yara Stadium, when in form striker, Steven Mukwala scored in the 80 minute to secure all three points for Kotoko.

Bechem United welcomed Nations FC to the Ahafo Region as they seek to chase for the league title with a victory against their opponents . The Ahafo boys put three past Nations with goals coming from Augustine Okrah, Emmanuel Avornyo and Francis Acquah

Dreams FC returned to Premier League action after an impressive showing in the Confederation Cup this past few weeks. The ‘still believe’ boys were held at home with a 1:1 draw against Accra Lions. Samari Salifu got his name on the threescore putting Accra Lions up before Abdul Azim Issiah stepped up to cancel out the lead with an equalizer in the 63rd minute.

Fellow title contenders in this season’s Ghana Premier League, Nsoatreman FC and Aduana Stars faced off in what was an interesting game but eventually the home side Nsoatreman FC won the day with a 54th wining strike from Stephan Diyou.

League leaders, FC Samartex stood firm as they walked through a struggling Karela side with a 3: 0 victory with goals coming from Emmanuel Mamah in the 45th minute, Dauda Yusif Seidu in the 57th minute and Baba Hamadu Musa in the 79th minute.

Legon Cities will continue match week 16 against Heart of Lions on Monday, 25th December, 2023 at 3pm. Which will be followed up by another game, between defending champions, Medeama SC and Bibiani Gold Stars on Tuesday, 26th December, 2023 at 3pm to climax match week 16.
