GTV Sports+ headlines coverage of 2023 AFCON in Ghana

The Africa Cup of Nations warms up to its 34th edition in Côte d’Ivore on 13th January, 2024. The tournament holds some huge moments for football enthusiasts across the African continent, with its ability to deliver some good scenes from the stadium to the comfort of homes of every football fan.

The broadcasting of the biggest tournament in Africa has always been the first thing most football fans look up to, before the actual tournament even kicks off. Where the AFCON tournament will be shown has always been a huge question for most football fans in Ghana. 

Following the announcement of Multi Choice on Wednesday 3rd January, 2024 on their inability to continue broadcasting the AFCON this year as they have done since the early 90’s. Football fans in Ghana seem not to know where to turn their attention, when it comes to watching the games on television.

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) answers the questions of many football fans in Ghana with the full right to broadcast the tournament both on TV and Radio.

GTV Sports Plus under the umbrella of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation will be taking full charge as the only TV station in Ghana with the broadcasting rights of the AFCON 2023. 

All 52 matches from the group stages to the finale game of the tournament will be aired on GTV Sports Plus and other GBC channels. The matches that will kick off at the same time will be telecasted on both GTV Sports Plus and GTV respectfully.

The Black Stars of Ghana will open their game on 14th January, 2024 against the blue sharks of Cape Verde.
