The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is appealing to government and other agencies to adequately resource the facility to stand prepared should the country record coronavirus cases.
The Head of Public Health at Korle Bu, Dr. Philip Amoh in an interview on Joy FM bemoaned the fact that Korle Bu was not considered as one of the health facilities that will handle the virus if found in Ghana.
He said the two suspected coronavirus cases in the country call for the collaborative effort of all to address the canker which is fast spreading worldwide.
In response, the Deputy Director of Disease Surveillance at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Franklyn Asiedu-Bekoe said Korle Bu was excluded initially in order not to overburden the facility.
However, there are measures to equip Korle Bu with the needed resources to manage an outbreak of the coronavirus.
