COVID-19 update: 105 cases confirmed in Africa

Coronavirus cases in Africa has reached 105 according to WHO.

WHO African Region in a tweet posted on Wednesday, March 11, highlights the status update of the number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Africa.

Below is the list of African countries with cases of Covid-19;
Algeria – 20
Senegal – 4
Togo- 1
Cameroon- 2
Nigeria- 2
South Africa- 7
Burkina Faso- 2
DRC – 1
Egypt- 59
Tunisia- 5
Morocco- 2

Ghana has also recorded some suspected cases of COVID-19 but all test results were negative.

However, the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has suspended temporarily all foreign travels for all public officials, as part of measures to prevent outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

And also strict measures are also put in place to prevent the virus from entering the country.

These measures include the ban of handshakes and hugs, rigorous screening procedures at all entry points in Ghana, personal hygiene, public education and others.

According to the World Health Organization, Global death toll is over 4,000, with more than 110,000 confirmed cases.
