The Food and Drug Authority (FDA) has approved two more Covid-19 vaccines for use in Ghana.

The approval will allow Modena and Pfizer to be imported and distributed in the country. The two new vaccines will bring the total number of vaccines to five.

A Statement issued by the FDA and signed by its Chief Executive Delese Darko, said the authority will continue to use the ‘Emergency Use Authorization’ (EUA) pathway, which is the accepted procedure for all national regulatory authorities globally, in order to ensure timely access to quality and safe medical products including vaccines during this pandemic.

The Authority assures the public that all the approved COVID-19 vaccines have been subjected to rigorous safety parameters and the public are to receive these vaccines without any reservations.
