The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) has commended President Akufo-Addo and government for the leadership role shown so far, in the fight against COVID-19.

The Society in a statement signed by its President, Benjamin Botwe, said it will continue to make input into the national effort as a member of the National Technical Coordinating Committee on COVID-19.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana said it will ensure that members contribute professionally towards mitigating the spread of the virus and called on government to expedite efforts in providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to frontline staff.

The statement urges the public to desist from using alcoholic beverages including “akpeteshie” as hand sanitizers, because these beverages do not contain the strength of alcohol required for anti-microbial activity.
