The Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive, Yaw Owusu Addo, has inaugurated some projects to enhance education and health activities especially in the rural areas.

The projects include a three unit JHS classroom block for the Onokwa Community and surrounding villages at the cost of GH¢300,000.00, a semidetached two bedroom accommodation for the staff of the Municipal Health Directorate at Nsuta, the provision of electricity to the Nkawkaw lorry station and 140 stores at the station.

The Kwahu Twenerase Gyasehene, Nana Kofi Mireku hoped the new classrooms will motivate the pupils to study hard. Before the project, the pupils had been travelling miles, across the main Kumasi highway to attend classes.

The Municipal Director of Education, Madam Margaret Vormowor, said education is critical to the development of every nation and urged parents to provide the basic needs of their wards in schools and not solely depend on the government for everything. She warned the teachers against laziness.

The MCE, Yaw Owusu Addo, noted that the classroom block will serve pupils in Onokwa, Dateng and Fodua.

The Obomenghene, Nana Efah Opinnamang, who inaugurated the semidetached quarters at Nsuta, noted that it is a timely intervention and called on the people to support it by paying their ground rents and property rates to enable the Assembly to generate more revenue to undertake development projects.
