MakersPlace organises Robotics Scrimmage Competition

MakersPlace, a renowned STEAM education solutions provider in Ghana, has organised its first robotics scrimmage competition as part of its mission to make computing accessible to learners in all communities.

The competition took place in Abelempke, Accra, and saw about 23 students from various schools take part in the competition.

Speaking to Nation 1 TV, the judge for the competition, Karen Sakyibea Osei Mensah, said she was excited about the level of participation among the students. She described the competition as one that was a lot of fun.

Karen expressed her satisfaction with how the teams collaborated and worked as a team.

She added that the competition has exposed the kids to robotics, which helps them collaborate and work as a team.

She has extended her special invitation to children who want to take part in robotics training and the competition to contact MakersPlace. She reiterated that MakersPlace will help the children achieve their goals in robotics.

Again, she commended the parents who joined their kids in the competition. She added that the support from the parents has contributed to the kids’ success. She also used the opportunity to advise parents to continuously support their children throughout their robotic journey.

Some of the parents who spoke in an interview said they were impressed by the organisation and how the competition was held. They maintained that such programs must be continued to help their kids.

Finally, the students who took part in the competition could not hide their joy, saying they had learned a lot from the competition. They thanked the organisers and asked them to do more for them.
