McDan boxing tourney to climax independence day in Tamale

The much awaited McDan Amateur boxing is finally here as the city of Tamale is painted in all Ghana colours, the beautiful Red, Gold and Green for the 62 independence anniversary.

The last batch of amateur boxers arrived safely at the Tamale airport Tuesday, March 5, 2019, where they were met on arrival by a team of Tamale National  Security team who showed much love for the crowd pulling McDan Amateur Independence Day bouts to be staged at the Tamale Jubilee park today (Wednesday).

Some of team members were dressed in the event T shirts to show their unflinching support for Ghana boxing as a whole.

The joyous moments took the boxing team together with the chairman of the McDan group of companies, Dr. Daniel Mckorley to the office of the Northern regional minister .Salifu Saeed to seek his permission and blessing for the big and memorable bout to be staged in his region.

According to Hon Salifu saeed, the Northern region is abound with talents and this independence bout will help unearth the talents so that they can get a place in the national team, the Black Bomber.

“We are very happy and i mean more than joyous to have McDan here to help our youth to discover their talents  and want to motivate the boys, so we must thank McDan for his support for the Northern region” I will personally be there in person  to watch the fights and to fight as well,” he added.

Dr Daniel Mckorley also said his mission in the northern region is to offer his unending supports for the youth in the northern region
“I am a youth myself and i am here for the youth of this region i will continue to support with all my strength“I love the Northern region “he added.

On the fun aspect the curtain raiser is expected to be displaced by the regional minister Hon Salifu Saeed and the Regional Coordinating Director Alhassan Issah  Haaku .
The bout is expected to start at 6:30 pm this evening (Wednesday) at the Jubilee park in Tamale.
