Nationwide Measles, Rubella vaccination enters day 3

Its day three of the nationwide vaccination of children between the ages of nine months and five years against measles and rubella diseases.

Wednesday, GBC’s Eastern Regional news team visited the Koforidua Central Hospital where eighty-four children have been vaccinated which officials described as very encouraging.

The children were also administered with the Vitamin A supplement.

The team also visited the Koforidua Polyclinic, where vaccination was ongoing with about 60 children given Vitamin A supplement.

The exercise is also taking place in schools and households.

The vaccine, also known as MMR, is very effective in preventing measles and rubella and has no serious side effects.
