The Minority in Parliament has accused officials of the Parliamentary Public Affairs Directorate of Parliament of now seem to be speaking for the Majority side of the divide instead of the Majority Leader.

The Minority at a news conference to respond to recent release by the director of public affairs which seemed to discredit earlier submission by a minority MP on Parliament questions, the MP for Ajumako/Enyan/Essiam, Cassiel Ato Forson said, “of recently, the Parliamentary Service is not the one we used to know.”

“They have changed in the way they do things.”

According to him, “all of a sudden, anytime Minority Leader speaks, they are the one to come out to rubbish him, instead of the Majority.”

“And, sometimes when Speaker speaks, they come out to do their own things without due diligence.”

He reminded the Department that they are not to serve one Political party.

“They are there for members of Parliament and the Parliamentary Service and they cannot be seen that they are now an appendix of a Political party.”

“When they do that, that is wrong; that is not what we’re using our taxpayers’ money to pay them for,” he stressed.

He said, the Minority leadership “is very much worried about the new development and we shall report their act officially in no time”.
