Five political parties have called for aggressive development and action-oriented leadership to bring economic independence to Ghanaians.

The General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Yaa Juntuah, asked government to organize national dialogues on the best ways to tackle the country`s economic challenges.

She commended government for the operationalisation of the African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCFTA, and hoped the bottlenecks will be addressed to ensure its success.

The General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Janet Nabla, urged Ghanaians to reorient themselves regarding governance amid the world economic turmoil.

Miss. Nabla, asked all citizens to be active participants in the fight against corruption and dishonesty in the country.

The Founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Hassan Ayariga, said 66 years after Independence, it is worrying to see schools where pupils sit on the ground to receive lessons.

National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Party, PPP, Nana Ofori Owusu, noted that the celebration today must be based on the collective prosperity of the citizenry.

LPG’s, Kofi Akpaloo, said Ghana, which is blessed with natural resources including fertile arable lands and minerals deposits, deserved better governance and management of its resources.
