Former Minister for Trade and Industry and Former Presidential hopeful for the New Patriotic Party Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremateng has revealed that he has served his country well and will continue to serve the country as he journeys on a new path.

“I believe I have served my counter and intend to continue to do so”

Addressing a press conference in Accra on Monday, September 25, 2023, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, outlined some major contributions he has made to the growth and development of both the NPP and the country, known and unknown.

“From 1996 to 2000, I played a leading role in supporting the bid of the then Candidate J. A. Kufour to win the general elections, and become President of the Republic in 2001”. He stated

He stated the role he played since joining the party and how the party has unfairly treated him and his supporters. He also alleged that the Elephant Party has been hijacked by some leaders and elders, which has reduced the integrity of the party.

He detailed his appointment as Trades and Industry Minister and how he enhanced private sector both under the Kufuor administration and the Akufo-Addo administration. He also mentioned his involvement in championing the Popular One District, One Factory policy enrolled by the current Akufo-Addo government.

“I was subsequently appointed in 2003 as Minister for Trade and Industry and Presidential Special Initiatives, to implement a new economic paradigm which I had introduced in 2001, on the assumption of office by President Kufour. Between 2003 and 2007, I led the Government’s programme for enhancing private sector development and ushering in a Golden Age of Business in Ghana,” He says.
