Coronavirus: Health, Foreign Affairs Ministers to brief Parliament on Ghana’s preparedness

Minister of Health, Kweku Agyemang Manu, is expected to appear before Parliament Today to brief the house on preparations made to contain a possible outbreak of the corona virus.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, will also address Parliament on the same issue. Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, made this known on the floor of Parliament last week.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders yesterday held a National Technical Coordinating Committee meeting which reviewed the resilience of the country’s current arrangements to prevent an outbreak of the virus.

The Ministry of Health assured the public that it is doing everything possible to ensure that it protects the nation against the coronavirus. The Ministry also requested that all non-essential travels to China should be avoided or delayed.

The Ministry in collaboration with the National Technical Coordinating Committee is expected to take the media round the Kotoka International Airport to see preparations made so far by to prevent or contain any outbreak.
