The Council of State has presented a report cataloguing its activities since it was inaugurated a year ago to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.
At a brief ceremony at the Jubilee House, the Chairman of the Council of State, Nana Otuo Siriboe said the Council of State will not be a rubber stamp but will venture in areas of National interest.
When President Akufo Addo in February last year inaugurated the 7th council of State, the Council promised to submit its report to the President annually.
It is the first time in the recent history of the Council of State to President such a report. The report compiles activities of the Council since its inauguration.
The 39 page report takes readers through the constitutional developments of the Council with it’s historical antecedent.
During the period under review, the Council was compelled by the exigencies of it’s work to meet 73 times. It also met the President twice and examined and approved some political appointees.
Chairman of the Council of State, Nana Otuo Siriboe said writing of the report will not be a nine day wonder. President Akufo Addo commended the Council for its work especially the speedy manner in which his appointees were approved. The Council has taken a two month break after a year of rigorous work.
