The EC has been commended for its efforts to put together a credible voter’s register ahead of the 2020 elections. This came to light as GBC’s Radio Ghana sought the views of some political parties on their assessment of the voter registration which ended last week.

Despite pockets of violence that occurred at some centers, the exercise is said to have been well organised.

Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Nana Obiri Buahen described the newly compiled voters register as the most credible since 1992.

Deputy Director of Elections for the NDC, Daniel Amartey says the figures put out by the EC are not accurate even though the EC insists they are provisional.

National Secretary of the PPP, Paa Kow Ackon said although the process was generally well organised, pockets of violence that occurred in some registration centers should be looked at to avoid a repeat in the general election.

Director of Communications for the LPG, Samuel Owusu-Afriyie blamed the NPP and NDC for the pockets of violence that occurred at some registration centers.

Founder and Leader of the APC, Hassan Ayariga insists that the newly compiled voter’s register cannot be more credible than the old one.
