The Hohoe High Court, has dismissed an election Petition filed against Madam Helen Adjoa Ntoso, Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi West.

It is worth stating that one of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Seats that was being contested in Court after the 2020 election is the Krachi West Constituency.

After defeating the Krachi West New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate in the 2020 Parliamentary election, Mr. Joseph Amenkwa Mensah together with the Krachi West NPP decided to run to court to file an election petition in an attempt to overturn the 2020 electoral result.

The NPP in Krachi West constituency claimed there was over voting during the 2020 elections.

Election Petition against Krachi West MP, Helen Adjoa Ntoso dismissed

Two years down the line, the MP for Krachi West has been running to Court to defend the case.

Regrettably, the election petition that dragged for almost 2 years has slowed down the rate of developments and drove away potential investors.

The Krachi West NPP was not able to defend their case in Court.

Lawyer for the Defendant, Godwin Edudzi Tameklo said he was not surprised the case was dismissed in Court.

”The rule of the game is evidence and the Petitioner was not able to defend his case in the Court and that made the judge to dismiss the petition’, Edudzi posited.

The MP, Helen Adwoa Ntoso who could not hide her joy said, she knew ”from day one that the Petition would not stand because the election was free and fair”.

”At the initial stage, they said the problem with 12 polling stations but when the case commenced, they reduced it to three and yet still could not defend that”.

She added that, they can not go for review because a cost of Gh¢50,000 has been awarded and the Petitioner’s Lawyer pleaded on behalf of his client to pay Gh¢10,000.
