The Technical Committee set up by the Ministry of Finance and the Individual Bondholders Forum will have its first meeting on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Ministry.
Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta said the Technical Committee will look into the concerns of Individual Bondholders and the position of Government on the Domestic Debt Exchange programme.
He was addressing the media after meeting some members of the Forum at the Ministry of Finance in Accra.
Earlier, the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, refuted claims that the Debt Exchange Programme had commenced.
He said the Programme is a voluntary one and is anticipating an 80 percent participation and success rate. Mr. Ofori-Atta who was addressing the media at the Individual Bondholders Meeting at the Finance Ministry in Accra noted that the government is targeting fifty-five percent returns of GDP, adding that it is also keen on protecting the elderly in the society.
Lawyer for the individual bondholders, Martin Kpebu, reacting to the outcome of the meeting, said the setting up of the Technical Committee over the issue is a good start.
