Ghana asked to set priorities right to be relevant internationally

A Senior Research Fellow at the Legon Center for International Affairs and Diplomacy, Dr. Ken Ahorsu, says Ghana must set its priorities right if it wants to be a major power to reckon with in Africa and the world at large.

To do this, leaders must be creative and think outside the box.

According to Dr. Ahorsu, it has been proven that traditional diplomacy does not take a nation anywhere hence the need for Ghana, to change tactics and adopt modern diplomacy.

Dr. Ahorsu made the point on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme “Talking Point”, which discussed “Ghana’s Foreign Policy”.

He said there is the need to study the international system to see where it can be relevant while it works on its security, economy and issues of corruption.

A Governance Expert, Frederick Agyarko Oduro, says the lack of a national policy, does not help in making significant strides at the global level.

He said policy experts must address the lack of national policy to attract the right investment.
