Ghana cannot be developed by only Politicians, we can harness the rivalry between old students as a potential to build a cohesive country to propel development, according to Professor Badu Akosa, Board Member of the MOSES Foundation Ghana.
The Mobilizing Old Students for Educational Support (MOSES) is a conversation the former Director-General of the Ghana Health Service is promoting.
The MOSES Foundation says it stands for building national cohesion for educational development and Professor Akosa believes energy from Old Student rivalry can be channeled to achieving this feat.
”Imagine the rivalry coming from Secondary Schools”, he asked, ”I have always wondered how we can use that energy to support the national agenda”, Professor Akosa opined.
He drew an analogy from the National Science and Maths Quiz and the momentum of energy that comes with it, in a build-up to the finals, and points out that it can be utilized positively towards propelling development.
”You have to wait until the National Maths and Science Quiz, and everyone is waiting for the bragging rights”, …. once upon a time we had inter colleges, we can harness this potential in energy build-up for a national agenda”, according to Professor Akosa.
Professor Akosa believes that it is possible to bring along the energies of the youth to propel national leadership.
”The country cannot be developed by only Politicians, …. everyone needs to come aboard, and then we can harness the potential to build a cohesive country, the MOSES Board Member posited.
