John Boadu Seeks Royal Blessings From Effutu Akwa Traditional Authority As National Campaign Tour Gains Momentum

Leading contender for the National Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. John Boadu, today paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Assin Fosu, Okumanini Baffour Asare Kyeahene II, to formally seek his blessings ahead of his nationwide engagement tour.

The visit, marked by deep tradition and reverence, underscores John Boadu’s firm commitment to honoring the customs and authority of his ancestral home before embarking on broader political engagements across the country.

Addressing the Omanhene and his council, Hon. John Boadu stated:

“Nana, it would be a great disrespect to hear on radio and television that your own grandson is traversing regions and entering various palaces without first coming here to seek your blessings. I am here to formally inform you of my decision to contest for the National Chairmanship of our great Party when nominations are opened, and to ask for your guidance and prayers as I begin this journey.”

He emphasized that his extensive experience, from the polling station level through to the national hierarchy of the Party; places him in a unique position to effectively manage and reposition the NPP at this critical juncture. According to him, the Party’s long-standing investment in his development leaves him with a duty to serve with competence, loyalty, and vision.

The Paramount Chief, Okumanini Baffour Asare Kyeahene II, the Queen mother , Nana Afranse IV and all his sub chiefs warmly received the delegation and commended John Boadu for his humility, respect, and sense of responsibility to tradition.

“John, you are a true son of the soil. What you have done today is honorable, and we shall remember you in our prayers as you take this bold step. Our people are known for courage and excellence; go higher,” the Omanhene declared.

He further advised John Boadu to remain focused on his message and not be distracted by critics, expressing strong confidence in his prospects.

The delegation included prominent party figures such as Hon. Maxwell Kofi Jumah, former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Mr. Richard Takyi Mensah (Central Regional Secretary), Mrs. Charlotte Adwoa Antwi (Central Regional Women Organizer), Mr. Attakora Amaniampong (Assin Central Constituency Chairman), Nana Pasha, Mr.Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong (Wofa K)- NPP UK branch Chairman, Mr. Eric Baidoo – Former Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate,Assin Central Constituency, Mr. Jerry Addo Twum, and Mr. Emmanuel Aniagyei, along with other regional and constituency executives.

This symbolic visit marks a strong and culturally grounded start to John Boadu’s nationwide engagements, reinforcing his message of unity, experience, and respect for party tradition and national heritage.
