The larger opposition party, National Democratic Congress, NDC, has inaugurated a 44 Member Campaign team for Ketu South Constituency in the Volta Region for the 7th December Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
In his Inaugural Speech, The Volta Regional Vice Chairman, Lawyer George Loh thanked the party in the Constituency for the Massive turnout during the just ended Voters Registration Exercise and encouraged the team to work together for more turnout on the election day.
The Former Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts and The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu South also advised the NDC folks to let their actions inspire people to join the party in multitude since “politics is about numbers”.
She bemoaned the continuous closure of main entry points to Ghana from Togo saying it has affected “the people of Ketu South very badly”.
She said “the closure of the border from March to date has caused a lot of anguish, hunger and a collapse of the economic support system for people and intimated that all the people need now is hope”.
Abla Dzifa Gomashie later presented 2 brand new motor bikes to the constituency at the launch, making it a total of 7 motor bikes the Constituency has received from her since her election as the NDC Parliamentary Candidate.
In attendance to inaugurate the team were the Volta Regional Vice Chairman of the NDC, Lawyer George Loh and Volta Regional Zongo Caucus Chairman, Hajia Hawa.
The Team is under the leadership of The Constituency Chairman, Kumordzie Bright Kwaku.
