The 2020 parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress, NDC, in Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency of Eastern Region, Rev. Alfred Osei-Poku popularly called “King Jaaja” has filed his nomination to contest for NDC 2024 parliamentary candidate position with the aim of unseating the Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency who doubles as the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

In an interview with GBC Sunrise FM at Akyem Ofoase in the Akyemansa district after filing his nomination, Rev. Osei-Poku revealed that his aim for contesting again to be elected as NDC parliamentary candidate is to rescue the good people of Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency from being deprived of development under the Akufo-Addo’s government of which their Member of Parliament (MP) serves as a Minister of State.

He noted that most of the youth in the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency have completed tertiary education such as College of Education, Nursing Training and University however securing a job has become difficult especially those perceived as non-NPP members which in a natural sense should not be so.

Rev. Osei-Poku appealed to the people of Ofoase-Ayirebi and the NDC party delegates in the constituency to repose trust in him by voting for him massively to lead the party to unseat Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in the 2024 general elections in order to bring development to the people Ofoase-Ayirebi.

He noted when voted to become the NDC Parliamentary Candidate and subsequently voted to become the Member of Parliament for the Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency, he will provide the youth with jobs and provide the Constituency with development projects such as health facilities, roads among others that the current MP has failed to do.

Rev. Osei-Poku reiterated that currently, none of the clinics and health centres in the Constituency have access to scan machine when the Member of Parliament representing the Constituency is a Minister of State.
