The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MPs failed to show up at the inauguration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo earlier today (January 7).

The Party’s Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama was also absent at the inauguration.

Although there has been no official explanation for their absence, it is widely perceived that the boycott is in protest against the outcome of the December 7 elections.

The Party has refused to accept the outcome of the elections alleging malfeasance at the polls.

It has however filed a petition at the Supreme Court seeking among other things a declaration from the Supreme Court to the effect that, “the purported declaration of the results of the 2020 Presidential Election on 9th December was unconstitutional, null and void and of no effect whatsoever.
