The Member of Parlianent for Nadowli-Kaleo and Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament
Alban Sumana Bagbin has reiterated his commitment to work with The NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama to win 2020 presidential election.

The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament who could not make it to lead The NDC has dissolved his campaign team and charged all his followers to redirect their energy, time and resources in support of The Party and The Former President Mr. Mahama for victory.
Mr. Bagbin who made this known to his team members at a get-together has also admonished his men and women on the need to come together for victory,…..”it is on this basis that in all humility, I have personally given my word to President John Dramani Mahama that come rain or shine, I and all my Team members without exception will henceforth, remain in his corner!
We pledge to fight to not only return him to his rightful place in the Flagstaff House in 2020, but also and more importantly, to support him to the hilt in the rejigging of our Party Infrastructure in order to clearly differentiate it and to reposition it as a party which has responded and can once again respond to the hopes and aspirations of the ordinary people of this Great Nation of ours”.
Below is the full statement:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
At long last we can all heave a sigh and thank God Almighty for helping us bring closure to our much vaunted flagbearer race. A race that has greatly tested our resilience and our readiness as an alternative government in-waiting. A race that has provided a rare platform to enable the Ghanaian electorate to fully assess the NDC and its relevance and attractiveness vis-a-vis the record of our property-owning NPP regime which has delivered more on slogans and promises and almost nothing on substance!
That the contest had its own very special human and logistical challenges was there for all to see. That it threw up some incredibly good ideas that will inure to the benefit of our Party was as clear as daylight. That it afforded our party’s rank and file the rare opportunity to introspect and to redefine the soul of the party and its time tested democratic credentials was also not lost on many discerning observers. And finally, that one good party stalwart out of seven equally good party stalwarts happily, eventually emerged as the overwhelming favourite to the Glory of God is now a matter for the chroniclers of our history as a party.
It is on this basis that in all humility, I have personally given my word to President John Dramani Mahama that come rain or shine, I and all my Team members without exception will henceforth, remain in his corner! We pledge to fight to not only return him to his rightful place in the Flagstaff House in 2020, but also and more importantly, to support him to the hilt in the rejigging of our Party Infrastructure in order to clearly differentiate it and to reposition it as a party which has responded and can once again respond to the hopes and aspirations of the ordinary people of this Great Nation of ours.
Needless to say, we have completely dismantled our campaign machinery in its entirety. We are committing all of our brainware and all of our hardware to the 2020 war chest of our Great Party. We can do no less! And in so doing, I pay a personal tribute to the many good men and women who at great personal cost to themselves, dared to publicly share in my vision and actually succeeded in winning back my own faith in the workability of this dear country of ours. From the teaming masses of ordinary young people, party delegates, my constituents and fans, communicators, back office staff, drivers, personal attendants and upwards to my close-knit team of visionary campaign craftsmen, I doff my hat to all of you for a fabulous job done.
I cannot conclude without once again, expressing my congratulations to you, President John Dramani Mahama, on your very emphatic victory! And to those of us who boldly conceded and thus validated the outcome, I salute your magnanimity in defeat and your invaluable contributions to our collective desire to deepen our Party’s internal democracy. May we all see the outcome of this contest as a fresh start in our journey to victory in 2020.
May God/Allah Bless us and guide us all to the Promised Land!
Together, we win Election2020! Long Live the NDC! Long Live Ghana!
Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin (MP, Nadowli-Kaleo & Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament)
