The opposition National Democratic Congress, (NDC), has begun nationwide vetting of members of the party who have successfully filed their nominations to contest various parliamentary seats Today, July 25 and Tomorrow, July 26, 2019.
In the invitations sent out to the aspirants, the Volta Regional Chairman of The Party, Henry Ametefee said, in order to consolidate the unity and cohesion in the party to secure a resounding victory for the flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, and the NDC in the 2020 general elections, aspirants would be made to sign a declaration form which will mandate them to be committed to accepting the outcome of the vetting and the primaries without resorting to any form of litigation.
Mr. Ametefee stressed that, all aspirants shall be committed to issue based campaign devoid of personal attacks and rally behind the winner of the August 24, 2019, Parliamentary Primaries to galvanize a united front towards winning the 2020 elections.
He said, “I write to first of all congratulate all the distinguished and also invite them to appear before the Vetting Committee in person to be vetted in accordance with Section Six (6), A (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) of the guidelines as amended for the conduct of the August 24, 2019 parliamentary primaries”.
Each Aspirant is allowed to bring not more than thirty (30) supporters who would be provided seats outside the vetting room, but “Aspirants shall be held responsible for any misconduct of their supporter(s)”.
