N/R: Unopposed NPP Parliamentary candidates get 100 percent endorsement

Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Sunday, January 21, gave hundred percent endorsement to aspiring Parliamentary Candidates who are going unopposed in five constituencies in the Northern region.

This is in line with Article 7(31) of the NPP’s constitution. At a popular acclamation held at Tolon, Karaga, Gushegu, Bimbila, and Tatale-Sanguli in the Northern Region, thousands of delegates affirmed their support for their respective parliamentary candidates ahead of this year’s general elections. 

At Gushegu, the aspiring  Parliamentary candidate,  Lawyer Alhassan Tampuli, who is also the Deputy Minister for Transport, got overwhelming support from the constituency.

The exercise was supervised by the Gushegu Municipal Directorate of the Electoral Commission (EC) with support from the Northern Regional EC Director, Lucas Yiryil.

In an interview with journalists after the event, Mr Tampuli expressed gratitude to the delegates for entrusting their trust in him.

He said the hundred percent endorsement will clarify outstanding issues that characterised his endorsement in the 2020 general elections.

The Deputy Minister for Transport promised to speed up development in the constituency to improve the socio-economic status of the people in the area.

Deputy Majority Chief Whip, Habib Iddrisu, was endorsed as a candidate for Tolon; Dr Mohammed Amin Adam was endorsed as the candidate for Karaga; Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul was endorsed as candidate for Bimbila; and Thomas Mbomba was endorsed for Tatale/Sanguli constituencies.
