Parliament is in the process of determining the fate of six ministerial nominees of President Akufo-Addo. They include KT Hammond, for the Trade Ministry and Brain Acheampong for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

Presenting the report of the Appointments Committee’s report before the House, Chairman, Joseph Osei-Owusu explained that the Committee by majority decision recommended that the nominees be approved.

Seconding the motion for the adoption of the House, Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin said Parliament’s vetting of the six members proved that it played by the book and did its scrutiny when it came to appointments.

The Minority, however, argued that they were not furnished with copies of the report in due time so as to properly digest and make a decision, and so prayed the speaker for more time. Ahmed Ibrahim, Minority Chief Whip
