President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says government has no plans to change the laws on same sex marriage.

He said the government has no authority and will not seek one in legalizing homosexuality.

President Akufo Addo stated this in Accra at the 2018 Synod of the Global Evangelical Church.

His comments have put to an end debate over whether government intends to legalize the act.

The President came under criticism after he granted an interview to Aljazeera on same sex marriage.

He was emphatic that government will not legalize same sex marriage.

President Akufo Addo also spoke about calls by a section of the Public for churches to be taxed and said there is the need for partnership between the government and the church in bringing prosperity to Ghanaians.
