Veep Bawumia launches “The Arts and Power of Goodness -Collection on John Agyekum Kufour

A book that catalogues artefacts collection of former President John Agyekum Kufuor has been launched to celebrate his life.

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia who out doored the book, titled “The Arts and the Power of Goodness” noted that it is important to preserve all forms of artworks for future reference.

He said former President Kufuor, whose artifacts collection has been documented will be very useful to the unborn generation.

The Arts and the Power of Goodness: A Collection on John Agyekum Kufour has chapters on paintings and artworks that depict centuries of African leadership and diversity of the African culture, artworks on diplomacy, resistance and cooperation and the rich Kente cloth.

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia applauded former President Kufour for his contribution to the economy and pieces of advice he still churns out. He described the arts collection on him as a masterpiece. He spoke about some of the chapters of the book.

The Ambassador of France to Ghana, Anne Sophie Ave said France has always been an advocate of Arts and this is an opportune time to honor former President John Agyekum Kufour. She also outlined some programs being undertaken by the French Embassy in Ghana.

The author of the book, Ivor Agyeman Duah who was a Special Aide to the former President on international development and cooperation touching on the inspiration behind the book described the former President as a power strategist who sets targets and strives to attain them.

Twenty-five pieces out of the over 70 collection were exhibited at the forecourt of the French Embassy.
