A total of 1,140 delegates of the New Patriotic Party are expected to elect their Parliamentary Candidate for the 2024 General Election.

The contest is between the incumbent Member of Parliament Mr. Sylvester Tetteh and two other Candidates Mr. Eric Kojo Van Ess Kusnchie and Madam Vida Acheampong.

Voting began at exactly 7am without irregularities.

Speaking to GBC News, the Presiding Officer, Madam Pricella Ogboo Mensah said the voting process is according to plan, with some 547 voters as at 10:31 had cast their ballot.

Some of the voters in an interview with GBC News expressed their satisfaction with the orderliness of the exercise.

Although relatively young, Bortianor is now a swing Constituency.

It has since 2012 voted both NPP and NDC MPs.

In 2016 Habib Saad unseated the NDC’s MP Bright E.K. Demordzi.
