The Programme Manager of the Malaria Control Programme, Dr. Keziah Malm, says distribution of Insecticide Treated Nets and other initiatives have seen significant reduction in malaria parasite prevalence among children in Ghana.
Dr. Malm was speaking at a forum on Malaria Implementation Project in Accra, under the US President Malaria Initiative.
She said much could be achieved in malaria control efforts with positive attitudinal change by citizens.
The US President Malaria Initiative PMI, funded project, has for the past five years, through the National Malaria Control Programme implemented measures to eliminate malaria.
These include the distribution of more than twenty-six thousand Insecticide Treated Nets to households, the primary school Insecticide Treated Nets initiative, and technical assistance to support the Netapp software.
Dr. Malm said the partnership with the PMI Vector works has seen improvement in Insecticide Treated Nets Distribution rates.
A representative of PMI Vector Works, Sylvester Segbaya shared some success story of the project which is expected to end this year.
