The Upper East Regional Director of the National Youth Authority, Eric Gyan Ansah, has cautioned the youth to remember that they are future leaders of the country, hence the need for them to contribute their quota in rebuilding of the country through active participation in National activities.
Speaking at the 39th Annual Convention of the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Ghana held in Bolgatanga, Mr. Gyan Ansah said the youth should let their watch words be patriotism, self-reliance and self-discipline.
According to him, self-education is imperative and a necessity, since no democratic society can be genuine if majority of the people remain illiterate and do not understand events revolving around them. He said self-education will go a long way to eradicate the greatest enemy of any organization which include illiteracy, ignorance and mental subjugations.
Mr. Gyan Ansah said the theme for the convention which is “SELF-REFORMATION” is a well chosen one because of the obvious need for them as a people to promote self-reformation which is the foundation of success.
He underscored the need for the people in the country to join hands on deck to work and make the country a better place to live in. He said a self-reformed person assumes responsibility for his or her action and always obey the laws of the country, respect the rights of the people, protect public property and respect the religion of other persons.
Mr. Gyan Ansah said the convention took place at the time people are faced with a range of challenges from participating in political violence, armed robbery, drug addiction and alcohol abuse, “get rich quick” attitude and lack of employment.
This, Mr. Gyan Ansah noted, affects the quality of life of the youth, making it extremely difficult for them to reach their full potential. He appealed to the youth across the country to celebrate life and join the fight against Tramadol Abuse in the country.
