A Security Analyst, Adib Sanni says the proliferation of small weapons and ammunition in the Northern part of Ghana is a source of worry.
He said the situation is being compounded with the incursion of some extremist elements from neighbouring countries into Ghana’s territory.
Mr. Sanni therefore challenged the security agencies to adopt current strategies and approaches in safeguarding internal security.
On the threats posed to religious bodies by extremists groups in the sub-region, Mr. Sanni urged the security agencies to engage religious bodies especially in gathering intelligence. He also asked the Police administration to augment personnel in Northern Ghana.
