A member of the New Patriotic Party’s Communication Team, Kwesi Quarshie, has called for a standardization of proceedings across board to avoid unauthorized procedures in Ghana.

The NPP Spokesperson made the call on the back of the interdiction of the eleven Senior High School Headmasters for their alleged involvement in the collection of extra charges from fresh students of their various institutions. The collection of extra charges is deemed unlawful by the Ghana Education Service due to the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy.

He bemoaned the actions of some Ghanaian Officials who use dubious means to downplay the effectiveness of the government’s efforts to better the lives and growth of citizens. He labelled such acts of the interdicted Headmaster as one that is hindering the smooth implementation and progress of the Frees SHS policy.

“The government is putting in much resource to ensue most children and Ghanaians relish their future dreams through education, so those uncultured act should be looked at to ensure the smooth growth of the Free SHS since its implementation in 2017”, he said.

Mr. Quarshie emphasized on the importance of education as one that pulls something out of nothing so it therefore needs to be given all the maximum cooperation and support it deserves, hence, the introduction of the Free SHS Policy. He reiterated that, when there is standardization in Ghana, there will be harmonization.

“Out of Education you can create something out of nothing and with education you can create a lot more out of something”, he added.

He called on the Ghana Education Service and the various stakeholders of the education sector to intensify awareness on the rudiments of the Free SHS Policy.
