Veep presents 365 vehicles to Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education has taken delivery of three hundred and 65 Isuzu double pick up trucks for onward distribution to its Directorates.

This is part of the 840 vehicles been procured by government for the Ministry.

In addition, 463 motorbikes out of the two thousand bikes being procured have also been handed over to the Ministry.

At a short ceremony in Accra, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia said government has the Education sector at heart and will continue to provide the sector with the needed logistics to enhance its work.

The coming on stream of these vehicles which is in fulfillment of the promise made by government, is expected to compliment efforts to enhance operations in the Educational sector.

Vice President Bawumia indicated that Government is relentlessly pursuing investment in the sector since the development of the human resource is key in every aspect of the economy.

He announced that the rest of the vehicles will be made available by the end of next month, adding that all Senior High Schools across the country will also benefit from the 360 buses being procured by government.

The Minister of Education, Matthew Opoku Prempeh in a remark said since 2017, government has made education a priority as it has the potential to propel growth in the economy.

The Director General of the Ghana Education Service, Prof Kwasi Opoku Amankwa pledged to put the vehicles to good use.

The vehicles were funded by the GETFUND.
