Afro-Arab unveils Emirates Arena soccer complex

A 600 seater capacity multipurpose mini sports complex has been officially launched by the Afro-Arab Group in the heart of Nima- a suburb of Accra.

The edifice which was unveiled Saturday September 28, 2019 attracted dignitaries including the Italian Ambassador to Ghana Giovanni Favilli, a former Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ahmed, Member of Parliament, (MP), for Ayawaso North constituency, Yusif Jaja and Black Stars Deputy Coach, Ibrahim Tanko.

Named Emirates Arena, featured with 5-aside football astro pitch, flood light, LED electronic scoreboard, VVIP section and underground changing rooms.

Speaking to reporters after the inauguration, the Chief Executive of Afro Arab Ghana, owners of Emirates Arena Alhaji Salamu Adamu says their aim is to play a role in the development of the abundance talents in his vicinity.

“I am very happy with what I’ve seen today. This is what we want to give it to our society specifically Nima where I was raised. All we want to see is that this edifice is able to scout players for the national teams which will serve as a career and also give them livelihood. We are extremely grateful and this is opened to all and sundry especially my Nima people”.

A team led by Nigeria and Arsenal legend Nwanko Kanu who also doubles as the founder of Nwanko Kanu Foundation played against Bright Addae XI in a 5-aside football game as part of activities to observe the World Heart Day.
