The Ghana Football Association (GFA) wants the Black Stars to test their strength against the continent’s best teams next month, in the absence of competitive action.

Ghanasoccernet.com understands the association have targeted friendly games with the likes of Senegal, Algeria, Nigeria and Morocco.

With 2022 World Cup qualifiers postponed, GFA is looking at securing friendly matches for the team to keep them active.

GFA is expected to announce the team’s itinerary for June, which reportedly includes a training camp in Europe and two friendlies, later today when they meet the press.

Black Stars were scheduled to start their World Cup qualification campaign next month with two games against Ethiopia and South Africa.

But Confederation of African Football (CAF) have moved the games to September, citing ‘current challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic’ as the reason.

Black Stars didn’t qualify for Russia 2018 and they know another lethargic approach won’t get them to Qatar.

They are in the same group with Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and South Africa. These three counties are very ambitious and have the potentials to cause havoc in the Black Stars’ bid.

The third round of qualification series will see the 10 group winners from the second round drawn into five home-and-away ties. The winners of each tie will advance to the tournament.
