Ghana Under-20 team opened their African Games account with a 0-0 draw against Congo under-20 side at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 8, 2024.

The Black Satellite were looking to open their account with a formidable victory over a resilient opponent in Congo. Both teams started on a promising note, with numerous chances falling their way, but neither was able to capitalise on them.

Ghana took full charge of the game, with the likes of Abdul Aziz Issah and Jerry Afriyie putting in some shifts to grab at least a goal for Ghana, which would definitely set the path for victory heading into the final minutes of proceedings.

The Black Satellite came close to scoring as Aziz Misibau’s effort was denied by the crossbar in the 80th minute, mounting frustrations on the side of Ghana.

A few minutes after seeing their effort rattle the crossbar, Ghana built some momentum moving forward as they finally got the ball at the back of the net, but a controversial decision ruled out the goal for offside, and Ghanaian fans were left disappointed with the decision.
