In the build-up to a crucial Group B encounter between Ghana and Egypt, Head Coach of the Egyptian National Team, Rui Vitôria, says he is ready to face Ghana as a tough opponent in tonight’s make-or-break game in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

Ghana lost its opener 1-2 against Cape Verde, seeking a win to redeem itself against seven-time champions Egypt, while the Pharaohs of Egypt desire three points from Ghana after a 2-2 draw with Mozambique.

Both teams are desperate for victory to keep their hopes in the tournament alive and advance to the knockout stage.

Speaking to pressmen at the pre-match conference ahead of the game, Coach Rui acknowledged Ghana’s strength and admitted, “Ghana is a tough opponent,” and he was ready to stand up to the challenge.

“I am ready to face Black Stars players the Ghanaian team is good, and Kudus is doing well in the Premier League, all the players are good,” he said.

Ahead of the game, Coach Rui is optimistic his players will be tactically strong in the game against Ghana.

“The players should commit to our plans and be strong in tackles. We had tough moments in the last match, and we must learn from those mistakes to win against Ghana.”

Egypt takes on Ghana in the second group game tonight at 8:00 p.m. at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
