“We need to get a game plan or a vision on how to get our Coaches,” says Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Frank Nelson Nwokolo.

He said the decision needed to be made both by the government and the Ghana Football Association, (GFA).

From Mr. Nwokolo’s point of view, it is woefully inadequate considering the number of Former Ghanaians that turn out as Coaches overseas.

”Milovan Rajevac should not have been employed as Black Stars‘ Head Coach again because his days of glory were long gone during the times of Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien”.

To him, scarcity of Coaches will be a thing of the past if people in power will be willing to use their influence to fly ex-players abroad to train and become professional Coaches

“I think we are sleeping, people like Augustine Ahinful, Osei Kuffuoh, CK Ackonnor. I have seen a system where we always talk about the Ben Koffie situation. At a time we have someone in the country who sits in the FIFA Council who can use his contact and everything and say CK please go to Scotland. This year I want to get ex-footballers into training and I don’t think it’s anything difficult”, he opined.

Speaking on the GTV Sports+ Special program ”Saving Our Passion”, Mr. Nokolo entreated former- footballers to stay focused and emulate their Nigerian counterparts.

“We need to be focused and encourage our ex-footballers to look at their Nigerian counterparts”, he noted.
